Zinc Oxide is a non-soluble mineral that is often used in creams, lotions and ointments to soothe skin and protect it from irritants. It provides a protective coating for mild skin irritations, such as diaper rash, and can promote the healing of chapped skin. Zinc Oxide works as a mild astringent and has some antiseptic properties. By forming a protective barrier between baby’s skin and their diaper, it reduces the effects of bacteria and other irritants present in urine and faeces.
